Discrimination and Prejudice

From the video I watched in YouTube about brown and blue eyes, I had a flashback of a situation where I met one of my friends at work. He had an appearance of the Indians, especially with his face and attitude. At first, I was amazed and did not accept the fact of having a work colleague with an Indian nationality. I kept avoiding him and did not interact with him. After a short period of time, I recognized that he was doing an excellent job and completes all his shores on time that made me curious know him more and feel comfortable with him. I found that his mother is Indian and he had taken his appearance from her and he was proud of having a mother with a different nationality that made feel a great respect towards him.

Another example of a discrimination situation is, when I was in the UK finishing my studies, one of my friends was the team leader of my study group and he was irresponsible and did not take his work seriously. Our principle decided to change him and put me in charge, but one member of our group disagreed because he thought I do not have the right characteristics of leadership because he just did not know me personally. The principle didn’t pay attention to what he said and they stick to their opinion. I was doing my job greatly and every member was satisfied with my rules, then that guy came and apologized of what he said earlier and we became good friends in a short period of time.
