Volunteering- reflection#4

Volunteering

A volunteer is a person who freely offers to undertake a task or take part in a specific activity. Volunteering is not always about giving nor only one member gets all the advantage. In fact, at the Honor Village Campadia that is located in the Siem Reap, many volunteers such as the ex-students from the British School Al Khubaira took a benefit from their volunteering and the way it changed their life style. The volunteers left their family and country for a period of time in order to try their best to offer the children what every child in the planet deserve .The volunteers in Campadia where treated in a welcomed way, comfortable atmosphere and were not forced to do anything, under the perfect organizer and the founder, Sue, it all depends on your own will and desire to help the children; whom where motivated, either in learning or teaching them several skills which is going to benefit them and here comes the child’s role to develop their selves to have a better and secure future. The volunteers in Campadia will gain several skills. For example, as Alice said in the video I watched, I believe all the volunteers whom worked in the Honor Village Campodia had a great work experience, learned new skills such as team work, met new people, and give the society around them the courage to participate in such well organized places. As a conclusion, Campadia’s children enjoyed learning football, where taught English and the main subjects required, Art and craft that turned into a colorful art project where people are buying them for different occasions, music and dancing interested the children and Ranya offered her little experience in playing the guitar, and computer skills to reach the outside world. I believe Campadia will produce children that are ready to face the world.
